Design Director Levi’s® Vintage Clothing, Brussels: 2006-2009

• Managed the design direction of three collections. LVC, RED and Collectibles.
• Partnered closely with the Development Department, Line Management and Merchandisers.
• Worked on visual merchandising for new and existing concept stores across EU, US and Japan; designing store layouts, furnishings and materials.
• Designed and orchestrated trade show events with hands-on approach with building displays.
• Responsible for the styling and direction of the line/look books.
• Worked closely with photographer Immo Klink (http://immoklink.com)Street casting models, scouting locations and setting up crews for shoots.

2005-2006: Senior Designer Levi’s® RED, Brussels

• Designed five iterations of Levi’s RED. Originally worked with Design Director Rikke Korff on Icon RED in 2001, which gave me a full understanding of how far to push the boundaries of denim design.
• Designed finish/wash ranges for broader EU line.
• Developed denim fabrics with partnering mills.
• Assisted Sales team in promoting the collections, through a series of events.

Levis XX

Historical clothing background gave the perfect foundation to take on the design of Levis Vintage Clothing. Knowledge of finishing and distressing of clothing combined with experience with both mens and womens denim developed stories and historical themes for each of the collections, which helped build sales tools and point of sale installations and retail environment.


Creative Director, Levi Strauss & Co/Levi’s XX, Amsterdam: 2009-2014

Miles was responsible for the creative direction of the Levi's® premium collections:

  • Levi’s® Vintage Clothing, a specialist line which faithfully reproduced pieces of Levi’s history going back to 1873

  • Levis® RED, which reinvented the look of Levi’s Jeanswear.

  • Levi’s® Made and Crafted an elevated line for a younger, fashion orientated consumer.

• Created an equally strong focus; Men’s and Women’s// Tops and bottoms
• Developed the Levi’s brand globally with quality, premium product.
• Confident in taking risks to achieve a relevant level of product innovation.
• Brand ambassador and confident public speaker. Representing the Levi’s brand at many public events.
• Creator of concepts, and designs; product ranges and capsule collections.
• Good communicator with directing design teams to inspire designs to be on point, commercial and at the same time innovating with good margins,
• Managed 8 designers, specialised in Graphics, Men’s, Women’s clothing, Accessories, and specialist Designers in Textiles and Wash/finish design.
• Built good relationships with vendors and manufacturers, choose often to work at source to guarantee the highest level of quality, full understanding of capabilities and communications.
